Good Afternoon,
We want to finish up our 16 bar Garageband songs today. This may take up most of our time, so we will not be typing. Instead open up your project and get to work!
Good Morning.
Welcome back!
Today 5th graders will be doing online science testing.
4th graders I would like you to start with one drill of Master Key. Then we will continue to refine our skills in SketchUp.
Good Morning.
Today, please start with about 10 minutes of typing.
We will then work with sketch up using the group and component tools.
Good Morning.
Today we’re going to look at some designs for a car-free community. It’s an important day, where we will get an idea about scale, design elements, transportation solutions, and some building requirements. All of these aspects will be part of the communities you will build.
Before we start, we will listen to the composer podcast. During this time, please view the two image albums I’ve set up on our Green Community website below.

Good Afternoon.
Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go straight to Garageband.
Good Morning.
We’ll listen to the podcast to start the class.
Then, let’s take a few minutes to gather our notes from yesterday and we’ll have a quick sharing.
Afterwards we’ll learn about car-free communities.

Good Afternoon.
Please start with typing.
We’ll then start a new Garageband project. Our new song will be twice as long and contain separate parts.
I’ll explain and give an example at the end of our typing time.
Good Morning.
We’ll start by listening to the composer podcast. Durning this short time you may either quietly listen or play paratyper with your volume off.
Afterwards we will continue working on our Green Community project.
I will show you the new website and you and a partner from your table will have a research task to complete.
Below is a link to the website.
Please work on your keyboarding for 15 minutes.
Then continue to work in SketchUp on you project.
Remembering MLK’s Prophetic ‘Mountaintop’ Speech : NPR:
40 years ago, on April 3, 1968, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his final public speech. In a crowded church in Memphis, Tenn., King spoke of the injustice felt by the city’s sanitation workers, who were on strike protesting low pay and poor working conditions. But, speaking hours before his assassination, the civil rights leader went beyond that subject, touching on death and his own mortality.
