. This week we started an all-class novel in reading. It is called “Twenty and Ten”, and is a very exciting survival story with the setting in France during World War II. Twenty French children are staying in the mountains of France at a convent, to protect them during the German invasion of the country. Ten Jewish orphan children arrive at the convent and need a place of hiding. If your child is asking questions about that time period in history, that is why! A movie was made from the book, which we will also view. It is a good opportunity to compare and contrast a book with the movie made from it.
After conferences last week I certainly noticed students studying their spelling words more. They are getting results too! Thank you, parents. Please continue to help your child put these basic words into their long-term memory. It is vital to improved writing.
