This is the last week before Winter Break and the kindergartners have been learning about different winter holidays; I continue to read many different versions of The Gingerbread Man daily.  There is a lot of discussion on the many different endings, characters, illustrations and backgrounds of the story and children are predicting the many endings.  They have decorated gingerbread boys, put the story in the correct sequence and made a game to play at home.  Tomorrow, Sandy Reid, the tree lady who came in last week to talk about trees will be here to make paper with the class.  Miss Diona continues to teach her 10 Math lessons with the children.  She is doing a fantastic job and they are learning so much!  Today I read a book about Hannukah and explained how children celebrate the holiday; Teacher Dana also read a book about Kawanza.  I hope that you have a safe, relaxing and fun winter break.
