Last week we did a few special activities with our visiting teachers. On Monday, Mr. Lee took advantage of the sunny, windy day to do a sensory activity under the trees. On Tuesday, the letter of the day was “T”, so Miss R. did an activity where we put T-words on cut-outs of train cars. On Wednesday, Andrea did some body-movement activities– simple yoga poses and Brain Gym. This week we are beginning our unit on Community. We will learn about different types of communities (family, neighborhood, school, etc.) using real-life examples of each. Read alouds will include stories about going to the store, community helpers, and living together. Thursday the Letter of the Day will be “A” again, so we will make fresh Applesauce.  For the second round of letters, we plan on making a “Letter-of-the-Day” video. We will also continue painting and learning more about mixing colors, particularly how white paint lightens the colors and black paint darkens them.
