We are having a fun filled week in kindergarten. This week we will be celebrating the 100th day of school with lots of fun activies around the number 100. We will be rotating kindergarten classes, each doing a fun 100′s day activity. This week we will also be celebrating grandparents and special friends on Friday. Please let me know if your child will not have a person coming so we can team them up with another adult.
This week we are beginning some fun problem solving in math. We practiced acting out math stories using ocean animals. We are using stories with addition, and subraction. In literacy, we are back to worktime in center groups. Our story this week is Hide Clyde. We have been learning lots of facts about chameleons including where they come from, their habitat, their diet etc. In gym we are beginning jump roping along with yoga. We are on mile 20 for our goal of running a marathon.
We have been acknowledging students in the class who have been working on IXL math and Raz Kids each week. Luca Haverty got a big applause today for doing 249 math problems this week on IXL. Very impressive!!
