Our Field trip to Sauvie Island Farms was a big success. Thank you to all the parents who returned field trip permission slips on time, and especially to all the fantastic help we had on the trip. It turned out to be a beautiful day in a beautiful place.  We are beginning our science unit on trees next week . We have a guest speaker coming to talk to students all about trees. We will be learning many scientific aspects of trees including, parts of a tree, what trees are used for, products made from trees, what comes from trees, different types of trees etc…  Our lead story this week is called Dig, Dig, Digging.  Each week our lead stories will introduce the children to higher level vocabulary. For example, this week the students will be exposed to the words, swooshing, squelching, rumbling, loading, rumbling, gobbling.     Please be sure to sign up for a parent-teacher conference if you have not done so.
