The next few weeks will be busy in room 5 as the students work individually with the classroom teacher to complete the Scaffolded Extended State Assessments. The assessments are different this year. Based on the requirements of the NCLB act and the new IDEA reauthorization, the assessments follow the general ed curriculum for the student’s grade level. It is very exciting to truly give the students a chance to experience materials taken from the general education curriculum. For parents that want to know more about these assessments, there will soon be some parent information available. Just give me a call in the classroom at 503-916-6429.
