It is time to go on our third grade “Urban Tour” this Thursday, May 29th. We are boarding the bus at 9:20a.m. The students should wear comfortable walking shoes, and they should also bring a light jacket for the early morning cold and the eternal possibility of rain. The tour starts at the U.S. Bank building, and after two hours the tour ends at the downtown library. I have been told that cameras and umbrellas are not permitted. We are returning to school at about 12:30p.m. Students need a sack lunch, unless they have ordered a sack lunch ahead of time. I know that our students will comprehend their city so much more after being guided through and around some of the beautiful buildings, art, and landmarks of downtown Portland.
