Last week was full of activity. Our class really enjoyed our Valentines Day celebration. Thank you to all who donated all the wonderful food and drinks, and to all who helped make our celebration a success. We also enjoyed going to the play on Thursday. Again, a big thank you to all the volunteers who came along with us on our field trip. On Friday we celebrated Presidents Day. Our class thought about what they would do if they were the President and we read about Abraham Lincoln. We made Lincoln’s log cabin out of pretzels. This week we will continue our unit on hibernation. On Tuesday we will learn how bears prepare for hibernation, and on Wednesday we will observe and draw earthworms while learning how they spend the winter months. All week long we will also be celebrating the Lunar New Year. Students will make Chinese New Year masks, Chinese banners, tangrams, and dragon puppets. Just a reminder, our class is participating in drama with Michael Werhli for the next two weeks so there will be no sharing. Sharing will resume on March 5.
