This is our last full week of school before Parent/Teacher conferences and I am looking forward to meeting with each of you to discuss your child’s academic and social progress. I have sent conference reminders home; however, if you need to change your time and/or day, please let the office know. Children are busy during their worktime centers with measurement activities, literature predictions, patterns, labeling grassland animals and their babies and using the letter/sound of Hh in a variety of ways. We are talking about Thanksgiving traditions, pilgrim children’s chores, what we are all thankful for and creating cornucopias. Last week we met with our buddy class and each buddy group made a “hidden alphabet letter”; these will be hung up in the hall during conference time, so be sure to look at them; the children did an amazing job on their letter project.
* On Wednesday, December 3, we will be walking to Reed College with our buddy class to view abstract art in the Cooley Gallery. All the kindergartners have a walking field trip permission slip that was filled out at the beginning of the school year, so there will not be another sent home; however, I will be sending home information about this trip this week and I will also discuss it during conference time. If you would like to walk with us, we would love to have you. We will be walking in the morning and will be be back to Lewis by lunchtime. Please let me know if you would like to come.
