Our trip last Thursday to the Reed College Canyon was fantastic despite the cold, rainy weather. Each child was able to release a few fry and see students working in a biology lab at Reed. In last week’s news I mentioned that book reports were due this week. This was an error. Book reports are due on Thursday, December 13th. Sorry for the confusion. I am looking forward to having children share their reports next week! The National Geographic Magazines have finally arrived! Your child will receive back issues through September. We will read some of the articles together in class and then your child will be able to take each magazine home to share with you. On Tuesdays all children stay in our room for math and play a variety of math games together. Children set up expectations on what they feel are important rules to follow during game time. Their expectations are as follows: share, clean up, use quiet voices and have fun. I am happy to announce that this past Tuesday we had the best math game day this year! We took time at the end of the math period to do whole class compliments. Please take a moment to look at the still life art exhibit our class created outside our classroom door.
