Last Friday’s Valentine’s Day party was lots of fun. Children ate their cookies in suspense trying to figure out who their Pixie Pals were. Thanks to all the families who donated cookies and drinks for our party. This week in reading children will finish their Venn Diagrams comparing two fairy tales written by different authors. We will also work on getting ready for next week’s state reading test. We will begin by having a class discussion about what the children already know about testing and then answer any questions they have. Then, we will spend some time looking at a few sample questions to prepare children for the format of the state test. We do not put pressure on children about testing but encourage them to do their best. As parents, you can help by making sure your child has had a good night of sleep and a healthy breakfast. Our class will complete the reading test next Monday and Tuesday, February 23rd and 34th. We are looking forward to Friday’s fieldtrip to the Pittock Mansion. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time, as we will be leaving promptly at 9 a.m.
