We’ve had a great start to our year. What a terrific group of students! Our class has been busy doing lots of activities to help everyone get acquainted, as well as feel included, so that we have a supportive working community. As a group we brainstormed rules for our classroom, and then fine-tuned them until we were satisfied with the way they read. We voted on acceptance of the final copy, and each person signed it, indicating that they were a part of the process and felt they could uphold them.
We are also working this week on a study of homework skills. The emphasis will be to develop or improve our homework habits. Near the end of the week each student will create a collage that represents him/her. Students are bringing pictures, words, wrapping paper scraps, photos, etc. to school in preparation for this art activity. We will look forward to showing our finished products on Open House Night next week, Tuesday evening! I hope to see all of you there.
