We had a good time Tuesday decorating gingerbread men with our buddies in Ms. Swan’s room. The cookies looked adorable and, of course, were enjoyed by all. They were the hit of the day!
In writing we have been working on an imaginary piece. Students have sketched their story; used a four-square for organization; written a rough draft; worked to revise it, or make it better; and now are either editing it or making their final copy. They have enjoyed using their imagination on this story; however, they have also realized that writing with a definite structure in mind is challenging. The stories though are turning out very cutely!
Students in the fourth grade are busily working on their Oregon City Project. It is not due until Jan. 12, but if your child has gotten behind, he/she should work on it over the break to be caught up. (Refer to the assignment packet). Also over the break, please encourage your child to read regularly and work on memorizing math facts. I hope everyone has a restful, enjoyable time with family and friends!
