We started off this week with a field trip to the Willamette River to release our salmon. We are continuing our study of electricity. This week we are learning about circuit breakers and fuses and electrical safety. Our social studies unit of maps continues with Step 4 of the Fantasy Island project. Please note that Step 4 is due this Thursday, instead of Friday. Step 5 will be due a couple weeks after winter break. One reading group finished our science fiction novel. The other group continues the tall tales unit. Both groups have been given a book and assignment to read over winter break. My math group is making bar graphs this week. The students are becoming proficient in excel. We are also learning about variables, expressions, and equations. Please remember to review multiplication facts over winter break. It is expected that the students have their facts memorized to 12′s. We are concluding our week with our first class auction. Students are encouraged to donate items for our auction on Friday. Have a safe and happy winter break. See you next year!
