My math group pretended to buy stocks this week. We hope the market will do well the next couple weeks! The students will need a calculator every day for math class so they can figure out the value of their portfolio every day. Your child cannot fall behind in the daily work in this stock market unit. We have a couple field trips this week: safety patrol has a picnic on Thursday, and my class is going to OMSI on Friday. Please remember to wear appropriate clothing. On Friday, students also need to bring a sack lunch and disposable drink.
We are continuing our microscope unit in Science. Ask your child what specimens he has seen so far.
We are having a weekly test on the USA states, capitals, and abbreviations. Please help your child study. We are writing for a Two minute demonstration. Next week, your child will do the demonstration.  He will graded on this speech work sample.  Please help your child practice over this week and over Memorial weekend.  The demonstration needs to be within 10 seconds of two minutes.  If your child does not know all his multiplication facts by now, he really needs to learn them. Help your child review these facts over the next several days. All the students will have a final test in math covering math facts and topics he has learned this year.
