***By the time you read this, we will have just returned from our big adventure to see “James and the Giant Peach” at the Newmark Theater! After reading the novel in class, the children couldn’t wait to see the production. Thanks to our fearless parents: Tom Charles, Patty Jay, Dave Brown, Ken Hanson, Julie Lynch and Stacie Mishler! We couldn’t take these trips without your support.
***Our Audubon Bird (in class) presentation had to be rescheduled, so I will let you know the new date just as soon as we know. For those that pre-paid, I’ll save your money for the next round. =-)
***I’m looking forward to meeting with you at conference time next Monday and Tuesday. I will send home a reminder notice.
***During our whole group story this week, we are focusing on the skill of re-telling. During reading assessments, this is an important and necessary skill for children to master in order to continue to move their levels forward. In addition, we are working with verbs. In our Math unit, Coins, Coupons and Combinations, this week finds us looking at the Hundreds chart for patterns, combining multiples of 5 and recording strategies.
