***Gregory MacNaughton from Reed College was here this afternoon to ready us for our walking field trip to the Cooley Gallery tomorrow. Her told us about the featured artist, Lorna Bieber (no relation to that other Bieber) who is from New York. She finds interesting pictures, puts them together with other pictures, then uses a photocopy machine to enlarge or reduce them to create another work of art. One of the things we will be seeing is a twenty foot long array of 108, 11” x 17” photographs. Our thanks in advance to our parent helpers: Betsy (Emmy), Jessie (Sadie), Mary Kay (Declan F.), Michelle (Haven) and Richard (Sebastian.)
***The children are SO excited that we have begun the highly anticipated cursive writing practice! I remember feeling the very same way.
***Yesterday in Gardening class with Ms. Julia, the children helped plant two trees on the Lewis grounds. Ask your child if they helped to plant the hemlock or the shore pine.
***Our classroom bulletin board is transforming into a pond habitat! The children are excitedly creating construction paper beavers, frogs, lily pads, water skippers and much more to fill the pond.
***We are looking forward to our field trip to Brookside Wetlands NEXT Tuesday!
