This week we is full of fun activities in Room 3! We began our study of spiders and already have learned some interesting facts. Ask your child something to tell you something they have learned about these interesting creatures. Tomorrow we are heading to Tryon Creek where we will enjoy some time in the forest, as well as learn more about spiders! On Friday, we will have a “Harvest Celebration” in honor of the season. Thanks to all of you who signed up to bring in treats. This week we have been looking at patterns in math. We have created many different patterns, which range in difficulty. We know that patterns must repeat and have really gotten good at recognizing many different kinds of patterns. We also did a graphing activity to see how many of us are afraid of spiders. I bet you can guess where I am on that graph! I am still happy to welcome some spiders into our classroom in a secure, ventilated container. It would be great for the kids to have living creatures to observe. In writing, we have been having fun writing about autumn topics. Some are enjoying using their imaginations to create fun stories. Halloween is Sunday, as you know. Please try to get your child home and in bed early, so they will be ready to learn Monday morning. Sugar can really effect attention, energy and mood. I hope you will exercise discretion is how much you allow your child to eat. I hope to see some of you at our first Community Dinner Friday evening. It is sure to be a great time.
