It was wonderful to see so many of you at Back-to-School Night last night! I know the kids loved showing you around our room and I enjoyed getting to speak with so many of you. Many of you signed up for a conference time and that is great! I will send home a reminder of your time as it gets closer. If you didn’t sign up, please take a minute to find a time that will work for you. The sign-up sheet is outside of our classroom. This week we begin gardening with Ms. Julia. Kids will get to spend time with Julia in the garden for the next 5 weeks. We will have another session of gardening later in the year. We will have gardening every Wednesday, so please have your child wear garden friendly clothing those days. We are continuing to learn about each other, understand all of our school and classroom expectations and just figure out how things work in 1st grade! It is a lot to take in, but the kids are doing so well. We have a really lovely group of learners who care about the work that they are doing and each other. I feel very lucky! If you haven’t yet turned in your paperwork, or you $5.00 for Scholastic News, please do so soon. I am hoping to wrap up all that accounting stuff a.s.a.p.! This week we will welcome another new student into our community. We are looking forward to welcoming our new friend to our class.
