A few days ago many of us moved to new places in the classroom.  This provides us with opportunities to make new friends.  Through out the day, we often work and have conversations with our tablemates.  There is always a little give and take and sharing when solving issues.  As we remembered George Washington’s birthday Monday, we looked at our American flag and learned how it came to be.  We also discussed the Pledge of Allegiance and included a copy in our I Can Read Notebook.  Everyone is working on memorizing the pledge.  The Power of Our will arrive home soon to become part of the Mystery Box of Spelling and Writing.  Our is easily mistaken for are, so please work on how to use this word as well as spelling it.  The The Star of Are will come home before long.
