Leaves are falling, falling to the ground.  Red, yellow, green, and brown, leaves are falling to the ground.  Tomorrow we will experience autumn and the swirling leaves in the forest of Tryon Creek State Park.  Our learning about autumn and seasonal changes will flow through all areas of study in the classroom.  Each of us has selected a leaf for study.  The first thing we did was to heat it up in the microwave.  Why?  Where did the water come from?  In our scholastic newspaper we’ve read about the important job of firefighters.  October is a good month for families to review and practice your exit plan from your house.  What should we do if the smoke detector goes off?  What does it sound like?  Both Tanner and Zoe shared with confidence what their family plans are.  This weekend Daylight Savings Time will end.  When changing your clocks, it’s a good idea to test or change the batteries in all smoke detectors.
