Our science table has evolved from sunflowers to fall leaves to a coyote skull. We did an art lesson on Georgia O’Keefe’s fall leaves which has now led to her painting of a Cow’s Skull with Calico Roses. Georgia grew up on a farm in Wisconsin in 1887. Her bright paintings show the beauty she found in the simple, natural things around her. The class has been working in small groups to better their handwriting. This includes how they hold the pencil along with making the letter correctly. The letters so far are b, k, l, and i. Ask your child to show you the correct way is to make these letters. Just a reminder, conferences are next Monday and Tuesday. I’m looking forward to meeting with all of you.
