Last week I wrote about the hot weather being  over and it finally feels like fall and back to school.  Oops, warm weather again.  Luckily, it doesn’t seem to bother the children.  Monday we had an excellent return on homework.  Make sure to ask if you have any questions.  Yesterday a new packet went home.  The emphasis in literacy this week is short i, final x, and Realism and Fantasy.  Each student is in  a reading group at their level, working on these skills. At the end of the week ask them about the story they read during group time.  The children are also engaged in Literacy Centers each day independently practicing reading, writing, listening and speaking.
