Mr. Colvin’s 4th Grade Class Notes

This is a short week for students. Thursday is a planning day for teachers and Friday is Veteran’s Day. Homework (spelling, math, and reading logs) will all be due the following Monday, Nov. 14. We will take our spelling test then, too.
We were very fortunate to have Zach’s grandmother Collin come into the class last week and do an art project with us. You can read all about and see pictures of some of the creations on the blog at mrcolvin.wordpress.com.
We have started taking timed multiplication tests. Many students need to really start memorizing their facts, starting with the two’s. We work on them some at school, but the best place to learn them is at home with no distractions. It is critical that your child knows the multiplication facts by Winter Holiday. I guarantee that it will make the rest of fourth grade a lot easier.
Conferences are coming up the week of Nov. 21. I am looking forward to learning more about your child from you and sharing information I have. If you haven’t already done so, sign up with me or with Tracy in the office (in person or by phone 503 916-6360).
