Hello parents and students!
Last week we began work on the book, If You Could go to Antarctica. We discussed the following vocabulary words: continent, Antarctica, penguins, whales, seals, and icebergs. Please take a moment to ask your child to tell you the meaning of the vocabulary terms and if he/she can tell you what continent we live on. Thursday we will receive a special visit from a guest speaker who will give students factual information about trees. Also this Thursday is Art Night. It begins at 6:00 pm and will run until approximately 8:00 pm. Please come and take a look at the wonderful artwork students at Lewis have created this year. It is a fun event and we would love to see you there!
Next Thursday, May 12, we will be going on a field trip to Northwest Children’s Theater to see the play, Snow White. Permission slips for the field trip were sent home with students on Monday. Please return the form by Tuesday, May 10. We will be eating lunch in our classroom before we leave for the field trip. If your child needs a school lunch the day of the trip, please let us know so we can make appropriate arrangements with the cafeteria. Thank you!
