This week we will wrap up our work with Goldilocks and the Three Bears and begin work on the book, If You Could go to Antarctica. This non-fiction book will be the center of our work-time activities. Students will learn factual information about the continent such as climate, plants, and animals, as well as other interesting and unusual facts.
In math we are continuing our work with measurement and standard measurement is finally being introduced. Also, we will be re-visiting estimation.
New high frequency words of the week are “friend” and “school.” In writing we are working on period placement and stamina.
Scholastic book orders were sent home with students on Monday. Please return your order form by Friday, April 29th if you would like to order books for your child. This is our final book order of the year.
Yoga is every Thursday. It would be very helpful if your child could come to school on Thursdays wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that can be easily taken on and off. This will ensure that we will get to spend more time doing yoga and less time tying shoes!
We are still in need of snails. Thank you to the families that have donated them to our classroom thus far. If you have any in your garden and are able to bring them in it, would be most appreciated!
Miss Sarah has been thoroughly enjoying her student teaching in Room 4! While she will remain in the classroom co-teaching with Miss Cindy for the duration of the school year, her official student teaching will end May 6th. She could have not asked for a more wonderful group of kindergartners to teach and looks forward to spending the rest of the school year in Room 4!
