I hope you were all able to enjoy the long weekend. My family spent some time together playing board games, and I was reminded how important time together is no matter what age your children.
In math, students are continuing to work on patterns. We are practicing identifying, copying, extending and creating patterns. This and number writing will be our focus through Winter Break. Patterns apply to so many aspects of school and our lives. Math, literature, science, history all relate to continuing, creating or breaking patterns. (A little heavy, but interesting)
The word fairy brought two new words today: me and you. We are reviewing the words on our word wall often and students are using them in their journals!
Tuesday, we saw a play about the water cycle. We learned some places water is when it’s not easy to see…such as clouds and ground water, and how to save water by doing things like turning off the water while brushing your teeth. Our friend, Molly, helped with this demonstration!
Book orders will go out this Friday.
I look forward to meeting with you next week at conferences.
