The Presidential Election may be over for you, but we are finishing up our Election Unit and will be presenting our candidates next week! I am extending the due date for pop-up books; pop-up books will be due on Wednesday, November 12th. Our next unit will be a science unit, and students will be designing experiments and sharing them in a mini-science fair in January. Fifth graders in our room have been learning different methods of problem solving; this week Ms. Breen taught us how to use “guess and check.” Also Ms. Breen worked with students on how to be assertive with their peers. We learned the difference between aggression and assertiveness! We spent time practicing assertiveness through role playing. Please continue to monitor your child’s reading homework each week! We are looking forward to sharing student progress with you in a few weeks; conference reminders will go home next week.
