“Gung Hay Fat Choy!”… Happy Asian Lunar New Years to you! This week we will explore this important Asian Celebration and it’s cultural significance for many people in the world. We will be reading, writing, doing math and art activities including mask and puppet making, caligraphy, painting and creating tangrams. On Friday we will have a food tasting activity where we will try several special treats eaten in Vietnam, China and Japan during this special time of the year.We are meeting twice weekly now with our third grade Reading Buddies from Mrs. Ross’ class and the children from both classes love this time together! Also, our class is participating for the next two weeks in drama activities with the Lewis Artist in Residence, Micheal Werli. A special thank you to Jeanette Finley, Nicole’s Mom, for helping us to create a fantastic chair to for the Lewis Auction! More information coming soon about this terrific event!
