Welcome back from spring break. We have some field trips coming up quickly. First, the fifth graders are going to Bonneville Dam this Thursday. I will attend this field trip with Mrs. Jens and Mrs. Keefer.
Note the change on the date for the upcoming fourth grade field trip to Fort Vancouver. The day is actually Tuesday, April 5th instead of April 15th. Therefore, I am sending home another permission slip for this new scheduled date. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
This week I will be prviewing the new math adoption called “Bridges.” While math teachers are being provided this opportunity to become aquainted with the new math materials, we will not be using the new math adoption until September, 2011. In addition, I will beam the second in a series of math workshops that support teacher development. These classes help teachers discover a variety of ways students make sense of numbers, and how teachers can aquire more effective teaching strategies for our diverse math learners.
