We have two days of school together until parent/teacher conferences next Monday and Tuesday. I hope you received your conference reminder notices. If you need another, please e-mail me or call our awesome Secretary, Tracy Buckley for times and day.
This weeks focus revolves around being thankful for all the things we have and are able to give and share with our families and friends. Through out poetry, math activities, writing and reading we celebrate being thankful. We are finishing glazing and firing our ceramic leaves project in the school kiln and creating a watercolor leaf table mat for the turkey, (or tofurkey), to sit upon for Thanksgiving dinner this year:) We are doing Math Centers and continuing on with our daily word problems. This time of the day gives your child a chance to “shine their math light” and many of them do, brightly! Daily reading groups continue as the children work on their daily Work Time Center work. Please be sure to check their back packs to see their weekly progress and check our “WOW!” wall outside our door to see pieces of the daily work your child feels most shows their personal best attempts. They are pretty amazing! Your children have worked hard and I believe each one has grown a lot since the first day of first grade only three months ago! I look forward to seeing all of you next week and hearing your thoughts too:)
