I hope you and your family had some nice times together over the Memorial Day Weekend. I got a bike for my birthday and my family and I rode together all weekend! (We also spent a lot of time drying clothes due to the weather, but it was worth every moment:) It was great to remember all the reasons why I loved riding my bike as a kid although, I don’t remember being quite so sore after wards! At school this week, we are continuing our study of insects and their life cycles. Our painted lady caterpillars have crawled to the top of their habitat and have transformed into chrysalis!! In approximately 2 weeks they will become butterflies and We hope to release them into our new Butterfly Garden! Our bird bath that was to be installed in the Butterfly Garden in the front of our school ended up finding a better, safer home in the Outdoor Center where birds and butterflies may have more camouflaged access. Please stop by to see it! Thanks to Kathy Wright for all her work in the creating and installation of the piece and thanks to Cindy Dicenzo and Kathy Grahn’s Mom for their generous donation of the piece to our school. The kids and I can’t thank you enough.
Remember, if you volunteered this year for Lewis School, we will be honoring you on Tuesday, June 3rd in the Lewis Library for a light breakfast and fun get together! We look forward to celebrating you and all your work! See you then:)
