Last Thursday we enjoyed learning about Saint Patrick’s Day! After finishing an assortment of reading and writing activities, the students went to music class and when they returned they were surprised to find some magical leprechaun potion in cups at their tables! The children mixed it with milk and it turned bright green and got really thick. It was sweet and delicious!… ( Could it really be pistachio pudding? shhhhhh!). Fun! This week we are visiting the Lewis Outdoor Center to notice all the changes that have happened since our visit a month ago. How do the seasons cause changes in the landscape? Please stop by and see your child’s beautiful Spring pussy willow painting outside Room 6. Our lead story is by Ezra Jack Keats and we are doing many literacy activities studying his award winning books. In math we are finishing our unit on the amazing Antarctic Penguins. It has been such an all encompassing study and the children have loved it! Thanks to Geri Dash for her fantastic literacy circle lessons around the Antarctic. You are the best Geri!
