Last week we celebrated President Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthdays and the start of world wide Asian Lunar New Years celebrations through many learning experiences. We did math with a variety of coins, literacy through poetry, writing and interactive, hands on activities including taste testing, puppet making, log cabin crafting and Asian bean planting and measuring. We have a new math unit to help in learning geometric shapes and yesterday we enjoyed an awesome assembly from Metro. Thanks for all the hard work you have been doing with your child on the fluent writing and reading words I have been sending home each week. The students can really see the difference in their writing and rereading of their work. Monday was a great day as we celebrated our 100th day together exploring the collections of 100 items each child presented. We also did many activities to help students further their understandings of numbers to 100. Please come and volunteer for awhile sometime, it is such a great class and spending time with them is a joy. If you are able, we could really use some more glue sticks and hand sanitizer. Thanks for all you do, keep in touch: abuckley@pps.k12.or.us
