Classroom Notes From Mrs. Logue

On Monday and Tuesday I missed being with the students but I had the opportunity to participate in a great training with our Principal, Tim Lauer, our school Learning Specialist, Jeremy Manger and our Fourth Grade Buddy Class teacher, Mrs. Keefer. This conference revolved around the very effective, Safe Schools Curriculum we will be implementing at Lewis. My coworkers and I will bring information we learned back to our colleagues and it will be an invaluable support to our schools behavior policies and practices. When I returned today, I heard from our Guest Teacher that the students were bright, sweet and energetic! :) They are continuing to explore spiders, are being introduced to Sunny, my 25+ year old cockatiel, learning about reading the clock, writing from the heart and learning how to make their thoughts understandable and readable! Thanks to all the in and out of classroom volunteers! We have a terrific group of adults willing to lend a hand and an ear to the students. This week I will be getting in touch with our field trip volunteers and I will also be connecting with families I have not heard back from. I must have a signed form in order to take your child along. This week homework looks different than last weeks as I included a review of the last two weeks phonemic awareness activities. Please be sure to do your home practice with your child and read to/with them each day. I also included a fun math game that will improve your child’s number awareness. Take care of yourselves and write me at: abuckley@pps.k12/us.or
