Class News Week of February 6th Room 1

We have been having so much fun in Room 1 this past week. Each Monday morning we write in a book called Weekend News. We had a moment of celebration today when we looked back at our writing from the beginning of the year. The class was amazed at how much they have grown in their writing and their drawing. They were really proud of themselves. It’s always fun to see kindergarteners have so much pride in their work. This week in math, we are continuing to focus on numbers 10-20. We are matching sets to numberals. I am really encouraging the kids to see numbers in groups of 5′s or 10′s and then counting on. They are getting really good at this.

Next week we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a Friendship Party. There is a sheet outside the classroom door to sign up to bring something for the party if you would like to contribute.

I will be out of the classroom several days over the next few weeks at meetings. Please welcome Patricia and Ms. Heinlein as our substitutes. The kids always do such a great job for them. I am so proud of this bunch of kids. Friday I will be gone so we will be having yoga on Thursday instead.

Our field trip to the Children’s Museum was a blast. Thank you to all of you parent helpers who came along.
