Beginning this week Miss Morgan will be in our class each Tuesday and Thursday for the full days. We are so happy to see her in our classroom. We have finished work time centers and are now focusing on new ones, based on the book, Little Quack. Children are retelling this story and writing about it, putting cut up sentences together, predicting what comes next, creating AABB patterns and learning about symmetry. After reading the book, The Mitten, by Jann Brett, kindergartners sewed a mitten and colored puppets to retell the story to others. On Friday, we will complete activities while learning about Martin Luther King. The letter/sound this week is Ww; we also are working on vowels in words and stretching out sentences to make them more complex. I am continually amazed how well everyone is improving on their writing and reading ability!
