Harold and the Purple Crayon

Harold and the Purple Crayon is a classic children’s book written and illustrated by Crocket Johnson. The story involves a young man named Harold who he uses his purple crayon to draw himself into and out of adventures. It has been one of my favorite books since I was a child and I loved to share it with my students when I was teaching.
