Lewis PTA held their first meeting on October 5, 2010 and below are some of the things we discussed:
Safe Routes to School- Clay Veka (from the Safe Routes to School Program) is looking for Walk & Bike Coordinator for Lewis as no one has yet stepped up to led this yet this year. Today was National Walk & Bike to school day & we had nothing going on.
Julia Hamlin talked about Our Merit Level of Oregon Green School Membership- which we as a school have earned through our sustainability, recycling etc.
She needs volunteers for composting/recycling lunch waste (this is really just a couple of hours a month!)
Some current projects are a tree planting project on Evergreen.
-Community Dinner October 29th
-Free Farm Tour October 19th.
-Bugerville-Lewis Eats Out Tuesday Oct 12th 5-8pm -10% of all sales go to Lewis-tell your friends!
-Innisbrook Fundraiser is currently going on-50% goes to Lewis
-Run For The Arts will be Wednesday Oct 13th- the more people there to help count laps & cheer kids on the more fun it is for everyone! All money raised goes towards our Artist in Residence. Since we are running in the Fall this year (it has historically been in the Spring) the T shirt will be the same as last years. Please remember (& tell everyone you know) that the T shirt are NOT free they cost $ 4or $5 & that money comes directly out of what is raised.
-Holiday Bazaar- Nov 6th- only a month away. They’re looking for some day of volunteers. Email Amanda amandabayha@hotmail.com for detail or to volunteer to help.
Thanks,
Cassandra Nicholson
