Why: Help prepare your school’s grounds to welcome students back by participating in landscaping and grounds keeping events. Clearing debris around schools creates a safer, more enjoyable environment for students walking and rolling to school.
What: Community Appreciation BBQ (FREE)

Where: Cesar Chavez K-8 (formerly: Clarendon-Portsmouth School) 5103 N Willis Blvd, 97203
Why: Join community members from across Portland at this free BBQ, including music, games, outdoor fun, and back to school resources. Swing by the Safe Routes to School table to register your school for the October 6 International Walk + Bike to School Day and pick up a bag of prizes to encourage students at your school to walk + roll to school.
