This winter Lewis will be offering two informational meetings for prospective families. Please share this information with family and friends who might be interested. The dates and times are listed below. We also offer tours of the school each Wednesday in January and February except for the late opening days, (Jan. 20 & Feb 17)

Sellwood Middle School Information Meetings

Wednesday, February 3   6:30 – 8:00 PM 5th Grade + New Student ORIENTATION Night – Big Gym
Join us for a presentation and tour of our middle school program. You will meet the staff and see student highlights and activities your children will love. Families and students will be able to tour our building, talk to staff and see students in activities.

Wednesday, March 3 9:15 – 11:45 AM Students Visit Sellwood Middle School
Students are invited to Sellwood Middle School. They will see students present our programs and share what they love aboutSellwood Middle School. Our students will tour students around to see classes. Pizza will be provided at the end. Buses will pick up at Lewis, Llewellyn, and Duniway Elementary Schools. If you are visiting from other schools, please call our office so we know you are coming. (503.916.5656)

ESL Information Meetings

The ESL/Immersion Department will host nine meetings this month for families of English as a second language students to inform them about ESL programs and services, and ultimately, to strengthen the district-family partnership. [ Español ] |[ Ti?ng Vi?t ] | [ ??????? ] | [  ?? ]

ESL staff are holding informational meetings in every school cluster. At the meetings, parents can greet school principals, view a presentation and ask questions about ESL and other school services.

All meetings run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The dates and locations are:

  • Lincoln Cluster, Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Lincoln High School, 1600 S.W. Salmon St.
  • Marshall Cluster, Thursday, Jan. 7, at Harrison Park K-8 School, 2225 S.E. 87th Ave.
  • Jefferson Cluster, Monday, Jan. 11, at Jefferson High School, 5210 N. Kirby Ave.
  • Franklin Cluster, Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Franklin High School, 5405 S.E. Woodward St.
  • Cleveland Cluster, Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Cleveland High School, 3400 S.E. 26th Ave.
  • Madison Cluster, Thursday, Jan. 14, at Madison High School, 2735 N.E. 82nd Ave.
  • Wilson Cluster, Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Jackson Middle School, 10625 S.W. 35th Ave.
  • Grant Cluster, Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Grant High School, 2245 N.E. 36th Ave.
  • Roosevelt Cluster, Monday, Jan. 25, at Roosevelt Campus, 6941 N. Central St.

Families can attend any of the meetings, but it is recommended that they attend the meeting in their student’s school cluster.

Language interpreters will be available for Chinese, Russian, Somali, Spanish and Vietnamese speakers. Child care will be provided.

Announcing! Late Opening Wednesday Morning Camps Offered At Lewis

Beginning in January, Lewis PTA will sponsor a late-start-Wednesday camp.  This camp will be run through the PTA by parents of children attending OMSI camp and all funds will go to support 4th and 5th grade OMSI camp.   The cost of camp is $10/child for each late-start-Wednesday.  So if you are struggling with the inconvenience of late-start-Wednesdays and need affordable, safe, and convenient care, never fear.  We can provide your child(ren) with a fun start to the day with various quiet time and movement activities.  Registration forms will be available in the office and will be sent home the first week in January.  Space will be limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Pre-registration is required to attend this camp. Forms are available in the office or on our web site.
