Lewis Event at Barnes and Noble

We had a very successful weekend of activities at the Barnes and Noble bookstore at Lloyd Center. A portion of the sales that took place on Saturday and Sunday will be donated to our PTA. In addition some of our 5th grade music students performed on Sunday afternoon at the store. I would like to thank Mr. Jamesbarry and our 5th grade students for representing our school at this event. They did an outstanding job. Also I would like to thank Jen Neitzel for her work making this event possible and also acknowledge the parent volunteers who worked the event, and the many families that visited the store over the weekend.

Cob Bench Project

This past week students have been working with natural builder, James Thompson, helping to create a cob bench in our outdoor classroom space. The bench is starting to take shape and with the help of Julia Hamlin, and our parent volunteers the children have had opportunities to learn about cob and how it is made and how people have been using it for hundreds of years to create buildings and structures. By the end of school on Monday, all classroom will have had an opportunity to take part in the project. Below are a few images from our work.
