We had a great turn out this morning for our April Walk & Bike Day. Thanks to all those who took part and to our parent volunteers who make these events possible.
May Walk & Bike Challenge
There are 20 school days in May – how many days do you think you can use your leges to get school? Look for pledge tables near the front office and outside between now and May 1. Your first opportunity is this Thursday morning when you check in for Walk & Bike Day. To inquire about current and future Lewis Walk & Bike projects or sign up to volunteer, please contact Art Burden at 971-235-9016 or aburden@hevanet.com.
Do you have any extra mugs that you would like to donate to Lewis? Please bring them into Room 9, and place them on the counter on the left hand side of the room. We are going green for Art Night which is on May 7th. We are looking to collect 200 mugs for the event. These same mugs will be used for future events such as Community Dinners and the Volunteer Breakfast.

On Monday, April 6, 2009 at 1:30 pm we will hold our Run for the Arts kickoff assembly. Our run is scheduled for Wednesday April 29. The money raised from Run for the Arts helps to fund arts programs at our school. For the past few years we have used these funds to provide each classroom with a drama residency. As part of our kickoff we are very happy to have scheduled a special performance by the musical group Trashcan Joe. We would like to thank Young Audiences for sponsoring this performance.
The Lewis PTA will meet on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 6:30 pm in the school library.
